About Me
Who are you?
I'm Nate, and I'm reenactor and "living historian" who strives to learn and create at the same time. I have a passion for living history and blunt steel combat, as well as crafting, and music, and tabletop gaming, and animals...
As you can see, over the years I have amassed too many hobbies to support. During this journey, I've accumulated a lot of skills to get what I need: woodwork, leatherwork, tabletop crafts, armoring, costuming, dyeing, painting, sewing, weaving, the list goes on. I've done it all, to some degree-- you could say I'm a real jack of all trades.
In the interest of supporting my hobbies, I've set up this little business to recoup some of my expenses and recycle funds into my hobbies again! Though private commissions, event vending, and online sales, this has been more successful than I ever intended, and I am so very fortunate to be where I am.
Why are you called the "Laughing Craftsman"?

People who meet me at events often ask about my stuff and we talk about the things I make. I'm an outgoing person and love to meet new people. When I speak, I tend to laugh a lot-- I'm a jovial guy! So those who can't remember or didn't catch my name have called me "the craftsman who laughs a lot." Eventually, the "Laughing Craftsman" became a moniker for me. I think it fits me pretty well!
Why "Joke of All Trades"?
When it came time to pick a name for my store, I wanted something that reflected my personality and my diverse skillset. As I said, the tagline "jack of all trades, master of none" has been a shadow behind my countenance my whole life. It isn't meant to be a flattering title, but to me it speaks to diversity and dedication in the midst of struggling with ADHD. So why the "joke" pun? No, it isn't meant to be self-deprecating, although the double entendre is not lost on me! The truth is, I put on a good show, but you want to know a secret? I have no idea what I'm doing! That's the joke! I'm just some guy, just like you. We are all just people, doing stuff. I'm not some master craft guru. All of my abilities, all these trades I've learned, have one thing in common: one day I just decided to do it because I was too cheap to pay someone else to do it. And now that someone else is me! The best part is, you can do it too. All these things I do come with time and practice, but I'm nobody special, no different than anyone else. So if you want help doing learning how to do some of this stuff yourself, let's talk!
...Or you can just pay me to do it for you. I'm happy with that too.
